The Resort
Rusutsu Resort has some of the most incredible powder and tree skiing to be found anywhere in the world (says Powderhounds.com). Thanks to its perfect location, Rusutsu is protected from harsh winter winds…
…but not from the loads of powder they carry. And since it’s close to the Pacific coast, the resort is blessed with plenty of sunny days in winter. Rusutsu has won the distinction of Japan’s Best Ski Resort at The World Ski Awards multiple times in recent years.
Rusutsu is also close to Niseko (25mins) and somewhat close to Sapporo (90mins), two destinations that past travelers have expressed interest in day-tripping to on previous retreats.
The Hotel
The Vale Rusutsu is a luxury condominium-style hotel interconnected to Rusutsu Resort Hotel restaurants and amenities. Situated at the base of West Mt., The Vale Rusutsu offers guests ski-in ski-out convenience.
Standard room at The Vale is a one-bedroom suite (pictured), complete with living room and kitchen. You can check out details and floor plan here.
The Vale is adjacent to the resort's newly opened Kotobuki no Yu hot spring. The spacious, bright bathing facility includes an outdoor bath measuring 20m across, a sauna, and a cave bath.
Guests can experience Rusutsu's finest attractions just a short walk away, including fun winter activities, dining, shopping, the small local village of Rusutsu, and more!
The Yoga
We’ll practice twice a day for the 6 full days that we are at the hotel, Sunday to Friday. Morning sessions (7ish) will be mindful moderate vinyasa, geared toward performance on the mountain and appreciation of the present moment.
Evening session (5ish) will be a restorative class for reflective meditation and muscle recovery. All classes will be held in a hotel conference space, pictured. Attendance for all classes is optional.
Meals
Breakfast at the hotel is included every day of the trip, offering a buffet of both traditional Japanese fare and mainstream European favorites.
Welcome Dinner and Farewell Dinner are also included, locations TBD. Please let me know any dietary preferences you have when you send your deposit so I can make sure we can work with them.
Lift Tickets
Rusutsu spans 3 peaks – West Mt., East Mt., and Mt. Isola – each with its own unique terrain that expands the ways you can enjoy the snow. Hit it all with the five day lift ticket included with your trip. Rusutsu also takes Epic Pass.

PLEASE NOTE: Flight subject to change. Up to date flight information will be provided with group travel details approximately 3 weeks prior to travel. Standard baggage fees apply. Transportation between CTS and our hotel on both ends of the trip is included.
Modifications
Want to book your own flight? Subtract $1320. If you do not arrange your arriving and returning flights so that you can catch transfers with the group from CTS (New Chitose) airport to the hotel, you must also arrange your own transfers at your own expense.
Don’t need the lift tickets? Subtract $250.

Extras
What I have described above will be included in your trip at minimum. We may decide to add extras at any time at no additional cost to you, heavily dependent on participation as we go forward. If you do research into the area and find an activity that interests you, please let me know and I will consider it if we do decide to add more to the trip.
